In the game of toughness, in trying to perform at your top levels, there is some guidance that says, anything that is negative, completely eliminate from your mind. Delusion works on very easy things that you're already capable of doing. When there's not enough overlap, when theres is too far askew, things go wrong. Our brain is primed for freaking out, seeing whatever we're doing as a threat instead of a challenge. So the best thing we can do is embrace reality and see the reality of whatever it is we're facing.
