The most common reason to be in an ICU with AKI is septic shock. Vancomycin and piptase are the two medications that we use most often in patients with septic shock, Dr. Tillman says. The choice we're making is giving the best treatment for the disease that’s making them sick or not treating the disease that's making them sick.
