Helicopters to Dry a Football Pitch
After bad weather had canceled all their fixtures, the Victorian Football Association employed a helicopter pilot to fly over the pitch. The same technique has been used by a German football team in 2014 and an Alabama college football team in 2018. This is why I should have got that. There are helicopter pilots who during the cherry growing season are on call every morning in case it's been rain and we'll get a call up. They will have to hover over cherry orchards and dry the leaves so the cherries don't crack and spoil. But it's almost impossible to go film because it's also quite dangerous.
