Harper Lee's to Kill a Mockingbird
The story is told to us by our narrator a certain Jean Louise Finch who was known by the nickname scout. She tells us about her brother Gem and he's injured arm and starts telling us the events that led up to it being broken so that's what this story is and it's like a bit of a flashback. Set in Alabama in the 1930s scout tells us that our relatives first moved to the USA from England and set up a farm on the Alabama River. Their mother died when Scout was just two years old leaving Atticus to care for the children along with the family cook an older black woman called Kelpurnia.
