The Aesthetic Dimension of Culture

There's a lot of this is language that particularly during Barack Obama's presidency that he really leaned on to give a transcendent flavor to his political projects. And I think most of the people who are in that same secular orbit that nevertheless considers itself very moral and very upright and very progressive would deny that they're doing a religious project, but those transcendent appeals that it makes are fundamentally religious.
