It's the spaces where segregation was most entrenched where we have the highest numbers of executions. 87% of the people who had been executed for the crime of rape were black men convicted of raping white women. You're 11 times more likely to get the death penalty of the victim is white than if the victim is black, 22 times more likely in a case like McClesky versus Camp that went to the U.S. Supreme Court.
