Lonely is defined as lacking genuine closeness with another human being. Social loneliness means you don't have a sense of belonging to a community or group. Loneliness has always been a challenge for me, but I've not often seen it that way. It's actually been a source of pride for me that I have not actually belonged to like a click,. You know, in school, or the nerdy kids.
