Photochemical Capturing

Photographic plates are far more sensitive at the blue and violet end than they are at the red end. That meant that there was always the possibility of capturing on a photographic plate mark of things we cannot see. Talbot had already anticipated that back in 18 forty four. With long exposures, photographic plates could pick up images too faint for us to see.
