The Importance of Mastering a Medium

I think I actually don't think you can have a creative idea without pre-visualizing it executed in a medium. That's why I've sort of railed against the big idea in the advertising world, because it's clearly based on formulating ideas in TV. We need to get back to this, especially our industry, but creativity, as I say, is an applied art. It's not a theoretical art, especially in its commercial. And I think we're being very disingenuous thinking that there is like an idea that floats above execution strategy.
