The First Discipline

The first step of wisdom is seeing things for what they really are not how they present themselves, starting with you. The one who humbles himself will be exalted and the one who exalts himself will be humbled. Do not lean on your own understanding. Be not wise in your own eyes. Remember the great paradox in the book of Proverbs that wise people are extremely aware of their foolishness and fools think they're wise.
