Most people don't really have any idea what the value of their life is, he says. We should do some moral philosophy to think how long it's going to be that you stay alive and how good it is while you're alive, writes David Frum. For example, public health economists who work for the health service have a measure of the value of people's lives - called quality adjusted life years.
