The Importance of Venus' Magnetosphere
There is a prevailing narrative that the reason Mars has so little atmosphere is because it has no magnetic field. And therefore it loses its atmosphere to the solar wind. However, Venus has no magnetic fields, it seems to generate itself and it's losing atmosphere to the sun. So there are some ideas why. It could be that the inner core is forming, the innerCore is freezing out. The biggest reason why Mars doesn't have a thick Atmosphere is because it's small. Whereas in the case of Venus, it almost certainly is. We now know that to within about the same rate, Venus, Earth and Mars all lose atmosphere at about theSame rate every year.
