The intrauterine period has a long-term influence on emotional health and in my own history I discovered that the dad who raised me had not been my biological father. My parents had experienced infertility as a couple in the 1960s that they had used a sperm donor to conceive their first child. There's so much about healing in your book but there's also the ways in which we can never alter or if we were formed in this way very early on with a kind of lack of maternal connection with fear even in the uterus.
