The world bank is a quasi governmental or international organization that issues debt to lower credit rating countries. It's in the sort of global economys inter s to, you know, not not have countries flounder. The money they lend has strings attached to it, like trying to impose economic policy and financial prudence measures on borrowing countries. If exchange rates moved the wrong way, t could make it very difficult for them to actually escape from their distressed debt situation.
