California - A State That Reflects America Writ Large
In September, consumer prices were rising at an annual rate of 8.2%. So Americans are paying a lot more for petrol or gas for their cars. And they're paying more at the grocery store and for rent. When you go up to the rural northern part of California, this is a part of the state that's threatened to actually secede from the rest of California. They don't have enough population to actually put something like that on the ballot. But much more conservative and often economically depressed in a lot of these areas. It shrinks the space that any president can operate in. Really important point.
