What Happened to Them After the Book Was Published?
The book became a classic for describing what's now known as a time slip. In 1931, the fourth edition of an adventure was published under their true names. This edition revealed that Miss Elizabeth Morrison was really Miss Charlotte Moberly and that Miss Francis Lamont was really Miss Eleanor Gerdane.
