Using Fiction for Both Distinguishes That Essential Difference
Fiction disguises the fact that there is this distinction to be made between someone trying as hard as they can to make an accurate representation of a dinosaur and someone who invents the character of ET, the extraterrestrial. One is whole, holy fiction, unconstrained by any physical evidence and the other one is wholly constrained by physical evidence in so far as it can be. Using fiction for both disguises that essential difference, that important difference. And anyone who insists on it, they're both really are fictions, well, the ginstinian again, the Vittginstinian definition game.
