How Social Proof Affects Our Perceptions of Games
The most basic concept or the most basic definition of social proof is that something is normal to the extent that we see other people doing it right. This goes back to the classic studies by Solomon ash back in the 1950s where he would bring like 12 people into a room and they'd say, Okay, I'm going to show you two giant poster boards with vertical lines on them. The one on the left has three vertical lines and your task is to tell me which of the ones on the left is the same length as the one on the right.
