Introduction
Budica's revolt against the Romans in 60-61 AD is one of the defining conflicts of Rome's early expansion into Britain. Successive Roman emperors had considered invading Britain. Caesar's troops first came to Britain in 55 BC, but it wasn't until the reign of Claudius that the Romans came to conquer in force in AD 43. Duncan MacKay has recently written a new book on the rebellion, Echolans and Dave Musgrove called him to talk about the legendary C9 Queen.
