The Importance of Pre Alerting a Stroke Patient
The emphasis now lies with the clinician to determine whether they think this patient has got a stroke. If our little spider sensors are tingling, then I think giving them a pre alert and a heads up as to what you've got is really interesting. So if you think your patient has a stroke, then call that receiving center. Getting a good pre alert, getting enough time to then order those investigations is really important. We'll touch on that a little bit more later on when we start thinking a little bit about thrombectomies because that becomes really challenging.
