The Importance of Enoch in the History of Scripture
No early Jewish author considered Enoch to be authoritative scripture like with how the works of Jeremiah or Isaiah were viewed. Josephus in a passage from against Apion wrote that a defined Hebrew canon already existed by his time. No manuscript or historical evidence ever indicates that pseudopigrypha, like the Book of Enoch, was ever accepted as part of this threefold canon.
