The Importance of Context in Judging Art
How we judge a piece of art, whether it's literature or artwork, ultimately we'll have to do also with the context of where the art was created and how. But I think we're so adverse to that in this kind of patriarchal, Eurocentric society which is the dominant form of society across the world. We don't want to buy products by people whose views we strongly disagree with. So if we're going to judge art by what it actually is, then we would need to bring in a more holistic perspective.
