Ratsa is a neologism that starts to creep up in the late medieval period into the Renaissance and early modern period. It's used, as I've said, as a stud of horses, as a breed, but also it's applied to people at that very early turn. So much of the kind of puzzle behind the earliest origins of this book has been trying to figure out what this word means and to whom.
