Can Caffeine Before Bed Keep You Awake?

In a 2013 study, Drake et al. gave people 400 milligrams of caffeine zero, three or six hours before going to bed in a double blind study. They found that whether you took it 0, 3 or 6 hours before bed, they were statistically significant disruptions in sleep. The more rigorously controlled studies would indicate that you really ought to be pretty cautious when it comes to caffeine dosing within really a handful of hours before bed.
