Elastography in Liver Assessment

This chapter explores the limitations of transient elastography for liver health evaluation, particularly in individuals with high BMI, and advocates for the use of magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) as a viable alternative. It discusses the differing measurement scales of MRE and FibreScan, the limited validation data for MRE, and stresses the importance of accurate interpretation of liver stiffness values for clinical decision-making.
