The Intimacy of a Couple Councilling Session

I went to a couple councilling session with my partner. We were having tough times, and the guy was like a german intellectual. He said there's real hope for this relationship because that is intimacy. And we both looked for each other inate, what's he talking about? That intimacy isn't chewing each other's ears or gently running a forefinger down the back joint of some one's knee. It's about being able to just say what you think. i consider that port interesting point.
