Basil Zecharov pretended to be a Russian prince in the late 1800s and early 1900s. He got away with it for a while, but he was eventually found out by a Philadelphia businessman who happened across another newspaper article announcing his marriage In New York. The bigamist fled back to Europe as the law was closing in on him once again. By 1885, he was back in the Balkans working for an old employer of his named Thorsten Nordenfeld ran a sizable arms company.
