The Question of Permanence and Change

Rick Steves: The question of permanence and change was something that the ancient Greek philosophers wrestled with a lot. And obviously, the question of personal identity is still very much a live question in Western philosophy. What Buddhist would say is, well, just because you have a lot of thoughts about a person called you, doesn't necessarily mean that the eye exists says Steves. But he adds it's difficult to give a water-tight philosophical grounding to the idea of personal identity.
