Blood pressure changes in accordance with two major factors, the cardiac output and the systemic vascular resistance. Cardiac output can change in accordance with the heart rate and the stroke volume. The diameter of a blood vessel is the most powerful way to alter blood pressure. You can also change the resistance by changing the viscosity, the more viscous, the higher the blood pressure.
