The bill of rights was a response to george jeffries and his draconian you know bloody s sizes in the aftermath of the monmouth rebellion. It set out certain rights and prerogatives of protestant subjects but it doesn't really say anything about what if you're not a protestant you're still apparently suspect. The wig and tori parties which had formed during the popish plot and the exclusion crisis remain permanently they become long-lasting fixtures of british politics.
