Is China Open to a Natural Origin Zoonotic Virus?

It's interesting but also depressing is that at least in the US, it's overlaid with partisan politics and anti China sentiment. It veered into dangerous directions here because last year, Trump and his Secretary of State Mike Pompeo were constantly trying to kick up this theory. There are real potential benefits, policy reasons, ethical reasons, scientific practice reasons why we would want to know what the origins are. We've already seen one investigation from the WHO World Health Organization come back saying, Oh, well, no, it was probably just a natural origin zoonotic virus. But as you say, there are some really important questions also of laboratory safety.
