The Science Behind the Atomic Bombs

Lisa Mitner died just after Silent Spring was published. Many of these scientists we realise now how important the social context of science is. But many of these women at the time didn't realise what would happen from their science. And I'm really heartened to see that we've now got for the first time in its entire history, a female editor in chief of Nature magazine.
