The images were leaked by some data labelers in the gig economy. iRobot terminated their contract with SkillAI, and also said that they were going to take measures to prevent anything like this from happening again. TechReview got in contact with the company, which makes the Roomba,. They confirmed the 15 images did come from their devices, but from pre-production devices - meaning these machines weren't released to consumers. The most useful data sets to train algorithms is the most realistic -- sourced from real environments.
