Hinswaraj was written by Ghandi on a trip that he took from England to South Africa. He wrote it as an intervention in immediate debates about Indian independence. It's also, as I said of the Communist Manifesto, a deeply uncompromising piece of writing. The style is different, not least it's written as a kind of dialogue.
