Anastas and Sergo Minkeryan Left the Soviet Union on Sunday, October 28
After the Kennedy Houshov deal, it was determined that Minkeryan would go to Cuba. Anastas decided to take his youngest son, Sergo, with him on the trip. The problem was that Kennedy and Khrushchev had agreed to a framework for a deal but not all the details had been worked out. Except for Minkeryans himself, everybody at the Kremlin cowed into silence. They wouldn't contradict or correct him.
