The Connection Between Creativity and Fear
I wrote Big Magic because people kept asking me questions about creativity, especially after I gave that TED talk. My saving grace in the whole world and in myself is that as afraid as I am and I am, I'm like 1% more curious than I am afraid. If you want to live what I think of as a creative life, my definition of a creative life is any life where your decisions are routinely based more strongly on your curiosity than your fear every single day. And then your life itself will become a work of art.
