The Validity of Young Earth Creationism and Geocentrism

The both young earth and geocentrism are matters of science. And therefore, they are beyond the scope of church teaching. So he's not violating Catholic doctrine in holding those positions. He is putting himself at odds with the way the Magisterium approaches these issues. We have really good evidence for an old universe, including an old earth. But we can't establish scientifically a center to the universe.
