The Cooperative Barrier - How Does It Evolve?
Cooperation is very successful, but there's this cooperation barrier. So altruistic behaviour involves using some of your resources that you could have used for your own reproduction and evolutionary success. The reason why individuals don't capture the benefits of their cooperation is because there are free riders. Each of us is a cooperative galaxy of 10 trillion cells and each of those cells doesn't intend to be cooperative. Yet they're orchestrated by the way our body is organised to cooperate together only by following their own individual interests.
