In the 1980s, hard drugs were not available in rural Southern Indiana. Now you can go to a sketchy neighborhood and buy them there. In the 90s, narcotic painkillers were locked up tighter than Fort Knox. We started making it much easier to prescribe these drugs. And if we don't recognize that, then we're not going to have the proper diagnosis on many of our problems.
