i love the poetry world, and i do always want there to be enough that's of interest to a professional poet to make the show. But i also got an eye on the fact that there can be someone else listening who isn't a poetry geek, or hasn't read all that much poetry. Just to welcome them in and say, look, here's this poet who's writing right now. Poetry doesn't have to be hundreds of years old. It can be about an experience that you can relate to in language that is maybe the kind of language you might use to speak with your friends. And its poetry. Yes.
