The Bread of the Lord's Supper
The Lord's Supper is our opportunity to look back on the fact that Jesus submitted himself to the bitterness and nausea of this world. It also invites us to look around and to behold in one another's face as we pass the peace of Christ to each other. On the other side of the cross, there's something delicious that awaits the people of God - a feast much more powerful than an emperor riding into town on a horse.
