The temple is a living library of another possibility for the way human beings can conduct their lives. You come in and there's a kind of respect. Each person that comes is treated with tremendous dignity. A great generosity. And so, as Ajahn Chas said, this world which is suffering from warfare and racism and the greed and hate, and hatred and ignorance said what we would like to do is show that there is another way that human beings can live with one another.
