I think that maybe Thomas Kuhn was a little bit too simple minded. Maybe we don't really have paradigms replacing paradigms, but nested paradigms because I agree with you. There are really interesting bridges between modern statistical mechanics and complexity science as they already have that sort of weird purposeful character by virtue of the demon. And so I don't deny that, but I just want to clarify this point that I don't consider having an action principle equivalent to having an agent.
