We have been led to believe that the self is sacrosant. The self is the new god, just as in earlier ims, it was thought fitting to never deny god. Now it seems never right to deny oneself. Be true to yourself. Follow your heart. Just do it. This is the orthodoxy of our world. Take up your cross, is heresy. But even in health and ye, you don't deny it. Even in health and fitness, it's still a mechanism for further self fulfilment.
