Introduction

This chapter explores the concept of the knowledge process in Lacanian psychoanalysis and its connection to castration and symbolic alienation for the subject. It examines the renunciation of sexual enjoyment as a central aspect of Lacan's theory and discusses surplus enjoyment as a substitute for sexual enjoyment.
