Ibn Batuta and the Invasion of Goa
Ibn Batuta was the official envoy of the Sultanate of Delhi. He led an expedition to invade Goa in October 1342. The city's defenders were able to start it on fire and force them to surrender. Ibn Batuta had three options: return to Delhi, find a way west or push on to China. His ship was seized by the king Sumatra and he lost his best chance at completion.
