The Uncertainty of Climate Change
One of the things that makes it possible to avoid ideological or political conflict is actual certainty, right? If we know with 100% certainty where mega physicists and woke physicists alike agree an asteroid is coming to Earth, that makes it easy to actually start looking at the problem. But there's a 60% chance we're gonna wildly overreact to something and do stuff that we don't need to do, but there's a 40% chance that if we don't do those things, a million people are gonna die. And so I think that's sort of the essence of the problem is that uncertainty becomes a Rorschach test which lend themselves to ideological, ideologically divergent interpretation.
