Why Do We Desire to Know?

In Greek tragedy, knowledge is often denied to the protagonists. Foucault: In that case, Edapis doesn't have knowledge. He's always pursuing knowledge, but this knowledge that he pursues is not pleasurable. This idea also conflicts with Plato's location of supreme knowledge in the metaphysical realm of forms.
