What Is the Metaphor for Marriage?
The article started with Ephesians 5, but then it immediately tilted away from that into a kind of experiential ode to male sexual activity. That interpretation of the sexual experience builds an understanding of what it means to be male and female which is found nowhere in Scripture,. An understanding which characterizes the man as fundamentally generous giver based on his anatomy and the woman as fundamentally hospitable receiver based on her anatomy. Those are ways one can interpret anatomy, but they're not there in Scripture.
