Dorothy Arnold used her real name and New York City address, not only at the pawn shop, but at the hotel as well. Her parents found out that she had been in Boston with Griskam instead of in Cambridge with theadora. When Dorothy told her family about the story, apparently their response was to tease her mercilessly. The fact that she persevered despite her family's mocking says something about Dorothy's determination and character.
